Avid Pro Tools 101 and 110 Certification - Microcredential

Pro Tools is the main software used in both professional studios and in Fanshawe's Music Industry Arts (MIA) program. For students or working professionals, this microcredential is aligned with the Pro Tools 110 Certification, which provides user level knowledge of the software. Students will enjoy practicing their skills on Fanshawe's state-of-the-art systems in this immersive 6-week experience. For current students of the Music Industry Arts program, successful completion of this microcredential may be eligible for course credit in PROD-1058 Audio Workstation 1 and PROD-3032 Audio Workstation 2. For students who wish to apply to Music Industry Arts in the future, successful completion of this microcredential will provide them with a head start on the software and improve their chances of being accepted to the program. Learning Outcomes: 1. Operate a Macintosh computer using current operating system functions. 2. Edit audio using basic techniques such as cut, copy, paste, top, tail, fade, and volume change. 3. Configure audio hardware and software routing. 4. Record MIDI within current digital audio workstations 5. Mix audio and MIDI primarily within current digital audio workstations 6. Manage audio and MIDI media 7. Deliver projects in a file-based format for evaluation. Total class hours - 72
