Admission requirements:

Who is a mature student?

Mature applicants must be 19 years old by the first day of scheduled classes and have been away from high school for at least two years. Mature applicants must meet program-specific prerequisite courses listed in the admission requirements on each program page. Mature applicants can meet English, math or science prerequisites by successfully completing academic upgrading.

You can apply to Fanshawe College before you have completed all of the admission requirements; simply send us proof of enrollment in any courses you are taking for admission requirements purposes. Fanshawe must receive a final mark for required admission courses three weeks prior to the start of classes.

Mature applicant equivalency assessments*:

If you are ineligible for a program because you are missing an English requirement and English is your first language, the English Equivalency Assessment may be for you. Although achieving a passing grade on this assessment will not provide you with an English credit, it can help you gain admission to an open program at Fanshawe College.

If English is not your first language, the Duolingo English Language Assessment can be used for admissions purposes. To learn more about the test, see the FAQ section for test takers.

You can sign up to take the $49 (US dollars) at www.duolingo.com. Results are available within 48 hours of taking the 100% online test.
