Art of Knife Making Level 1

Humans have been making knives for thousands of years; over time, it has moved from a utilitarian pursuit to its own art form. Students will learn the practical knowledge and hand skills necessary to successfully design, engineer and build a handmade knife using the "stock removal" method. No forges or fires in this course. Knife design, steel selection, heat-treating, finishing, sharpening and sheath making are covered. Knife making supplies including steel, handle and sheath materials are provided.
