Introduction to Mental Health

This course we will look at an interdisciplinary approach to help students gain knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions evident today. The prevalence, diagnostic description, causative factors, outcomes, and treatment approaches of mental health will be explored. Students will have the chance to examine Canadian legislation, policy, and initiatives in the mental health field. Students will be challenged to reflect on their own beliefs, biases, and assumptions regarding mental health.
