Health Services

Physicians are available at the Fowler Kennedy Medical Clinic (London Campus, Room J1004) on weekdays for students with any illness, health concerns, birth control counselling, immunization and more.

Services offered

The medical clinic is a full service doctor’s office and includes a range of medical services available to support domestic and international students preparing for their field placements. In addition, the services of physicians, physiotherapists and pedorthists (orthotics) are available at the Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Clinic for sport-related injuries. Students can call 519-452-4230 to book an appointment.

For medical emergencies: When the clinic is closed, first aid is available at the Control Centre in room D1027 (London Campus) or by calling 519-452-4242. First aid kits and emergency phone boxes are located throughout the College. For medical emergencies, call 911 or proceed to the nearest hospital emergency department.

Information on COVID-19

Can I get tested for COVID-19 on campus?

Yes - both students and staff members can get tested for COVID-19 at the Fowler Kennedy Medical Clinic at the London Campus (1001 Fanshawe College Blvd.). We recommend taking the COVID-19 self-assessment tool online to determine whether or not you should book an appointment to get tested. That said, we are also testing those who are asymptomatic (not experiencing symptoms) and fall under the current provincial testing guidelines.

If you do require testing, please call our clinic directly at 519-452-4230 so we can schedule you appropriately and determine whether you are eligible for testing.

How do I book an appointment?

Please call us at 519-452-4230 to book your appointment. Once confirmed, please bring the following to your appointment:

Domestic students: Student card (FANCard) and health card
International students: Student card (FANCard) and proof of health coverage (Morcare)
Staff: Staff/employee card and health card

IMPORTANT: For the safety of all students and staff, appointments can be made by phone calls only; no walk-ins will be permitted at this time.

If I test positive for COVID-19, what do I do next?

You will be contacted by your testing centre (whether in or outside of Fanshawe College) for further instructions. You may also contact Public Health by phone at 519-663-5317.

Additionally, if you have a green Ontario health card, you can check your test results online through the Public Health website. Anyone with an old health card, out of province health card, or 3rd party health coverage (Morcare, etc.) will not be able to access results this way.

Other frequently asked questions

Are the Medical Clinic and Fowler Kennedy the same?

Yes - Fowler Kennedy is both a sport medicine clinic open to the public and a Medical Clinic available to all current Fanshawe students.

How do I book an appointment?

Please call us at 519-452-4230 to book your appointment. Once confirmed, please bring the following to your appointment:

Domestic students: Student card (FANCard) and health card
International students: Student card (FANCard) and proof of health coverage (Morcare)

Is my medical information held confidentially?

Yes - your medical information is confidential and will not be shared without your permission. Records can be shared with your family doctor only with your verbal and written consent.

Can I get help with medical services preparing for my field placement, including pre-placement forms completion?

Yes - the staff at the medical clinic can perform or initiate many of the things you need to do for your placement. This would entail having both Step 1 and 2 of TB tests completed, blood drawn for testing your immunity and providing any follow-up immunity injections that may be required thereafter and your immunization record updated. A reminder to students regarding preparing for placement: do it early and don’t leave it to the last minute; this may cause you to lose the opportunity to go on your placement.
