Governance and Human Resources in ECE will explore the essential skills required for effective human resources management and governance in Ontario's child care centers. Students will learn to recruit, lead, and develop a team of early childhood education professionals while understanding the roles and responsibilities of governing boards. By the end of this course, students will be well-prepared to manage the human resources and governance aspects of child care centers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services. Learning Outcomes: 1. Identify the key components of human resources management specific to child care centers in Ontario. 2. Develop recruitment and hiring strategies that align with the mission and values of a child care center. 3. Implement performance evaluation and professional development plans for early childhood education staff. 4. Understand the principles of governance, including roles and responsibilities of board members and leaders in child care centers. 5. Analyze legal and ethical considerations related to human resources and governance in the context of early childhood education. 6.
