Microcredential Series Description

The Leadership in Early Childhood Education series will provide current educators the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge to advance to management positions within organizations. This series will cover the following topics: Governance and Human Resources, Finance and Accountability, Policy and Legislation in ECE, and Supervision and Administration. These essential skills will be developed using best-practice knowledge, evidence-based research, leadership skills in professionalism, collaboration, financial management and advocacy.

Finance & Accountability in ECE will help students acquire fundamental financial management skills specific to Ontario's child care centers as they master budgeting, financial analysis, fundraising, and revenue generation strategies to ensure financial sustainability. Understanding the importance of transparency and accountability, students will learn to make informed financial decisions and create a comprehensive financial plan, fostering the long-term success of child care centers in the community. Create and manage a budget that optimizes resources while ensuring high-quality services for children and families. 3. By the end of this course, students will be well-prepared to manage the human resources and governance aspects of child care centers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.
