Prompt Engineering - Microcredential

With the release of ChatGPT and the several iterations that followed, there has never been more interest and use in AI platforms. AI platforms are being used across industries, from marketing, real estate and computer programming. While AI platforms can generate responses within seconds, it isn't necessarily always accurate. In this twenty-hour microcredential badge on PAI - Prompt Engineering, students will learn what the technology is, it's benefits and limitations, how to craft prompts to receive better results, and important privacy and security practices. This course will benefit anyone interested in using AI platforms - from IT professionals, to general interest, to learn how to use AI platforms effectively. This course will be self-paced, asynchronous, and non-instructor led. Students will need access to a computer and to the internet in order to access the free, open-source tools required to complete the active learning exercises, read the publicly available articles and other digital resources (videos websites, etc.) and to connect with the college's Learning Management System. Learning Outcomes: 1. Students will learn about the benefits and limitations of large language models like ChatGPT 2. Students will practice how to effectively craft prompts in such a way they receive better results from the AI platform. 3. Students will learn about important privacy and security practice specific to sharing sensitve, private and confidential and proprietary company information. Total class hours - 20
