Writing Canadian Arts Grants is an online micro-credential that equips learners with the skills to craft successful applications for Canadian arts grants, since securing funding through these grants is often essential for success in the arts in Canada. In this micro-credential, learners apply their skills to craft key sections of real-world grant proposals for the Canada Council for the Arts (and related bodies), the Ontario Arts Council, and representative municipal funding agencies; learners also reflect on their progress. Learners experience hands-on material and feedback beyond what is offered through funding bodies' own supporting material (e.g. Canada Council webinars). This microcredential is suitable for both learners who are new to these grants and learners who have prior knowledge and experience. Microsoft Word (or equivalent) and Adobe Reader are required. Learning Outcomes: 1. Identify persuasive content elements to include in applications for Canadian arts grants at the federal, provincial (Ontario) and municipal levels. 2. Evaluate strengths, weaknesses, and areas for revision in applications for Canadian arts grants. 3. Craft persuasive text for key sections of real Canadian arts grants (at the federal and/or provincial and/or municipal level). Total Class Hours - 12
