Electrical Techniques is a one-year Ontario college certificate program. Students will learn the foundational knowledge of electrical fundamentals and theories. A variety of courses will discuss troubleshooting digital electronics, network cabling, installation practices, and industry communication. This program is designed to prepare students to enter an electrical apprenticeship program upon graduation.
Electrical Engineering Technician is a two-year Ontario college diploma program. Students will learn the electrical fundamentals, automation, and power generation and distribution. Throughout the program, students will work towards an AutoCAD certification. Graduates of this program will feel confident to wire industrial and residential projects, along with the ability to work on hydraulic/pneumatic systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation.
Electrical Engineering Technology is a three-year Ontario advanced diploma program that includes up to 16 months of paid co-op experience. Students work on electrical, electronic, and digital components combined with a co-op that provides eight months of real-world electrician training and an upgrade to an advanced diploma.
Fanshawe’s Industrial Electrician program provides apprentices with the knowledge to install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and electronic controls. This includes everything from light fixtures to electrical motors, transformers and generators. Through troubleshooting and calculating measurements, loads and angles and master theories to solve simple and complex problems, graduates will begin a rewarding career as an Industrial Electrician certified through the Ontario College of Trades.

The Electrician (Construction and Maintenance) Apprenticeship is an Ontario college certificate program. Students will learn the ins and outs of electrical theory and gain specialized skills. Students will learn to read and interpret drawings, install conduit and connect wire. Students will have the opportunity to apply their skills on-site through the apprenticeship component. Graduates will feel confident in laying out, connecting, repairing and maintaining electrical systems.
Renewable Energies Technician (Co-op) is a two-year Ontario College Diploma where students will learn the fundamental knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical disciplines within this industry. This program will cover the design and installation of renewable energy solutions such as solar energy, wind turbines, biomass energy and geothermal energy systems. Graduates will leave with in-depth knowledge in installation, commissioning and routine maintenance of energy systems.
Pre-Technology is a one-year Ontario College Certificate program that prepares students to make the difficult choice in choosing a career path. Courses within this program dive into different areas of technology to help students prepare for the next step. Graduates of this program will discover pathways they can pursue in various academic schools.
Truck and Coach Technician (310T) is a block release apprenticeship program where students learn to troubleshoot and repair engines, power trains, ignition and electrical systems, and more. This program combines in-class learning with on-the-job training through an apprenticeship component. Graduates will gain the necessary skills to work on fleet maintenance, public transit systems or small repair operations.
