Students who wish to participate in regular day school programs on a part-time basis are encouraged to apply. If a student wishes to register part-time they are required to contact their Program School for permission. The school will submit a registration form on behalf of the student and the Office of the Registrar will contact the student once registration is complete. Tuition fees for part-time registration are by the individual course. Domestic students must pay a $250 non-refundable deposit upon registration with the balance of fees due by the 10th day of classes. International students are required to pay in full upon registration. For International Students (study permit holders), being a part-time student in Canada may negatively affect eligibility for post-graduate work permit (PGWP). All international students are encouraged to make an appointment with an international student life coordinator before registering as a part time student.
A part-time student is a student who is enrolled for a course or courses which form part of a post-secondary program and who is carrying a course load which is:
- less than 70% of the total student contact hours normally required for a full-time student, and
- less than 2/3 of the courses normally required for a full-time student
A full-time student who wishes to change to part-time should consult their Program Division and must advise the Office of the Registrar in writing within ten (10) days of the commencement of the term.
