The Developmental Services Worker (DSW) apprenticeship program allows you to pursue a formal credential on a part-time basis while continuing to work. Your learning will be dynamic with a focus on mental and physical health, interpersonal skills, teaching and positive behaviour supports. You’ll learn how to collaborate and build relationships with family members and to work with the diverse network of professionals who support people with developmental disabilities.

Agricultural Equipment Technician is an Ontario College Certificate program that trains students to repair and maintain tractors and harvesting equipment. Students will develop the skills to work on engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical and electronic systems. The apprenticeship program will allow you to train under the direction of experienced workers.

The General Machinist Apprenticeship program at Fanshawe’s St. Thomas/Elgin Regional Campus will give you the support to reach your full potential in this field. This apprenticeship program is designed to give students the skills necessary to pursue an exciting and rewarding career as a professional hair stylist. As part of a supportive and nurturing environment, you’ll learn the essentials of the hair stylist profession, with classes in cutting and styling, hair colour and lightening, facials and makeup, and chemical texture services. When you graduate, you will have completed all of the classroom hours necessary for your trade certificate.

If you’re a self-motivated individual who enjoys a hands-on approach to learning about horticulture and the natural environment, this apprenticeship is for you. This Horticulture Technician apprenticeship program begins with two to three years of paid on-the-job training from a horticulture employer, followed by in-class or online training delivered by experienced horticulturists. Upon completion of this program, you’ll be prepared to write the qualification exam administered by the provincial government and ready to launch your career.

If you’re already working in a professional institutional (not-for-profit) kitchen and wish to further specialize your skills, the Institutional Cook apprenticeship program is designed for you. Enhance your skills by studying basic cooking methods and food preparation of both savoury and baked goods, safe food handling, food storage procedures as well as nutrition and therapeutic diets. Upon completion of the in-school component of this program, you’ll be prepared to write your Red Seal Certificate of Qualification.

Automotive Service Technician is a two-year Ontario College Certificate Apprenticeship program. Students will learn how to diagnose, repair and maintain engines. Students will have the opportunity to specialize in an area of automotive service. Graduates will feel confident entering the workforce after applying their skills and knowledge in an apprenticeship component.

If you’re already working as an early childhood educator and wish to build on your successes, the Childhood Development Practitioner Apprenticeship program is specifically designed for you. Upon successful completion of this program, you’ll graduate with an Ontario College Certificate in Early Childhood Education. The apprenticeship portion of this program will provide a meaningful learning experience in child development and best practices in early childhood, making you more valuable to your current or future employer.

If you’re working as a cook in a professional kitchen and wish to further specialize your skills, this cooking apprenticeship program is specifically designed for you. Enhance your skill set through advanced studies in international cuisine, baking and garde-manger which will prepare you to write your Red Seal Certificate of Qualification. The paid apprenticeship portion of this program will expose you to real kitchen problems and test your skills under the direction of experienced Chefs.
