Fanshawe's Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Co-op) Technician program prepares you for employment by teaching you multiple skills and a co-op opportunity to put your skills in action. You'll learn how to view a building as a system and how to design, test, install and service mechanical, heating and cooling equipment. You’ll also explore hands-on lab work and theory.
Architectural Technology is a three-year Ontario college advanced diploma program. Students will learn the principles of building design, contemporary building methods, and structural and environmental engineering. Graduates of this program will bring their knowledge and experience through a co-op program to their career as an architectural technologist.

This course covers both theoretical and practical aspects of electrical and mechanical controls, the general requirements of space heaters, water heaters, combination systems and boilers.
This subject covers vent systems, flues and chimneys, as well as fireplaces, other wood heating appliances, steam and electric heating systems. Students apply knowledge of these systems to the role of home inspector.
